Work placement scheme Many postgraduate courses at Kingston University allow students to do a month work placement as part of their course.

Additional option modules focus on clowning, scriptwriting, directing and Shakespeare. Year 3 encourages greater independence and specialisation, including a major production project. You will develop skills and methods of theatre-making and performance, study key approaches to interpreting performance by examining play texts and productions, learn basic principles of theatre design and explore important phases in theatre history.

Course Notes Students will obtain their course notes and assignments from the course onQ site beginning the first day of term. You will experience each of these practically and explore the ways in which they relate to each other.
Core modules Creative Dissertation Creative Dissertation This module focuses on your own creative writing and research into your chosen form or genre, developed in consultation with your supervisor.
Your supervisor must agree in advance the final structure, approximate word length and for presentation conventions of these pieces. Those listed here may also be a mixture of core and optional modules. This postgraduate degree will give you the knowledge and confidence to enter the cultural debate and to begin to identify outlets for your own writing.

You will need a good dictionary and thesaurus, and you may find a grammar book helpful. A webcam is recommended but not necessary. The standard course fee is payable in year 1 with the placement fee invoiced in year 2.
